Why should I have an SEO strategy?

You probably know that doing some SEO increases the findability of your website, but why should you have an SEO strategy?

Audrey: Today's burning question is, why should I have an SEO strategy? So for people who don't know what SEO is, it means search engine optimization. Basically, people will come up to you and say, "Hey, I want my website to appear first on Google." But that's the outcome of a good SEO. So yeah, let's talk about why should they have an SEO strategy.

Jeanette: Okay, so think about when you want to buy something or when you're looking for somewhere to go or somewhere to eat. What do you do? You open Google and you search, right? So where should I eat for dinner today? Or where can I get a good mattress? When the results come up, you usually pick the ones on the first page. You don't even scroll down to result five and below, right? So that's why having a good SEO strategy is important because you want people to be able to find you when they're searching for the product that you're selling.

Audrey: One good thing is for sustainability, right? Like for me with paid advertising, it's a little bit like taking drugs, right? You get the pleasure immediately but that's about it. Once you stop and it's gone, right? But with good SEO, there is sustainability in terms of a lifetime ready for the things that you put out, right? People can still discover you one year down the road. Two years down the road and I'll just call that, it's like raking in the evens even after a long long time.

Jeanette: Yeah, I like to think of it as a sort of like a diminishing asset. When you build like a good content base which would contribute to your SEO. Months down the road even if you've stopped paying for advertising and all that, you're still getting traffic to your website. In also in the case of sense of trust because people tend to look at Google as an authority as well and the results that Google serves on top tend to be more trusted as well.
